Bonjour French Parents!
It has been another busy week here at Tattnall.  We love it!  This week in French 1 and 2, we spent Wednesday in the Tech Lab finishing up our Real World projects.  Thursday and Friday were spent eating A LOT!  We tried so many different treats.  Quiche, brie, ganache pies, macaroons, and chicken cordon bleu were just a few that I can remember off the top of my head!  French 1 should be FULL of brie cheese!  We learned about French gestures, making brie, tu and vous, Versailles and Louvre in French 1.  French 2 studied the eating habits of the French teenagers, they made menus, and several students chose to make vocabulary notecards for review.  Both classes taught parents, siblings and friends French words.  The students had a great time, and I think it worked out so nicely with Homecoming Week!  Thank you to all of you who helped your children organize themselves in order to bring food in for everyone.  I know this wouldn't have happened without you and I appreciate it!
French 3 finally finished our book and finally took a quiz.  Gone are the days of Real World :(  We are getting started with a new chapter in our text book, and we will have a test project due Wednesday. Our students will have to make a French recipe and record each step in French.  They will also have to present it to our class en francais!  Can't wait to see how they turn out!
All French parents, be on the look out for permission slips next week for our field trip to FPDS to hear a real French singer perform.   The actual date is November 14th.  After the performance, we will head to Cheddars for the Monte Cristo sandwich which is very much like the Croque Monsieur in France.
Thank you for the joy of teaching your child. Each and everyone of them are special to me!  Let me know if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns, and I will be glad to help you!
One last note, next Friday is the last day of the 9 weeks!  Time flies when you are having fun!
