Classroom Update

Well, I thought for now that I could update the site a tad. Let everyone know what we are doing in January in our French classes. In French 2, we started off the year with movie trailers of Twilight en francais. They are magnifique. I have also ordered the book in French so that French 2ers can take a stab at it. We haven't started yet. As for the French 2 book, Bien Dit, we are studying chapter 3 covering food and shopping, the pronouns y and en and forming questions. Most of this is complete review. But, y and en are new and we are starting section 2 this week. In Exploratory French I have revamped the curriculum by adding and taking away some things. With each new 9 weeks comes new students with new personalities so sometimes we have to change it up. So far so good. We started the 9 weeks off with Chapter one greetings and salutations. We learned about cognates, the geography of France and studied the city of Paris. The students presented Paris projects yesterday in class and we have moved on to French authors. Each student is doing a bio on an author and we are watching the Count of Monte Cristo in class. One of my most favorite movies! The kids generally love it. Enjoy the slideshows of Twilight on the blog. Who knew that vampires could ever be that interesting? Just as my students.
